"Thing a Day" Day 2 Polymer Clay Pins

I used the scraps from yesterdays canes to make these two pins.

Click on photos for a closer look.

I'm trying to be more creative with my photos..... guess I better not give up my day job, huh?I loved this mirror image the moment I opened it up. I like the floral image on the top and the bottom worked perfect for a butterfly.
Today I'm working on tiles for a necklace from the actual canes. I'll show you tomorrow.

  1. No no no, I think the photo additions are very good!! I'm totally impressed with the photos (as well as the pins). I spent the morning taking photos - 105 of them, and then deleted about half. Grrrrrr, I hate that job. Can I send my stuff to you to be photographed, please? LOL. (while you're at it, will you list it all on Etsy for me???)

  2. The middle one is my favorite. I love the way the orange embroidered flowers echo the shape of the flower in the pin.

  3. My personal opinion is that the fancy backgrounds distract from the clay. I like the plainer background at the top best, and would actually even prefer a plain solid color.

There's an italian polymer-jewelry artist who does beautiful work, but his photos are so ornate, I sometimes have trouble telling his backgrounds from his work. Not good!

  4. Thanks Jackie, Photo taking is not my favorite thing, for every one I post there are 4 or 5 that I deleted.

Thank you Marie, I like that one too.

My daughter agrees with you Gillian... she says the plainer the better. My son wants me to be more creative. And I prefer someone else take the photos :)
