I recycled two canes to make this necklace. I made matching chain links from beads and wire and then finished it with copper chain.
Click on the photos for a closer look.
This one is a work in progress. I made a kinda striped marbled background with one of the canes and then stamped it with my handmade kite stamp. I highlighted the raised areas with silver which, as you can see, needs a touch up. I ran out of amethyst wire for the chain so had to put that on hold until my wire order arrives. I designed the wire links to pick up the circle pattern on the pendant.

Oh my gosh, I'm not even sure which of these I like more. I love how rich the colors are in the first piece. The shapes are wonderful. I really love the abstract patterns on the second piece and the colors are great. Excellent work!
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteI came across your work quite by accident on flickr & now your blog - you do beautiful work & you can see that you put everything into each piece you create (as in your heart & soul). I've loved some of the canes I saw on flickr & now your jewellery here in your blog & I just have to say ... WOW! I adore your Kite Necklace from the colours you've used right through to the various techniques to piece it all together.
Your work is amazing & I look forward to seeing more of it! I'm really keen now to see what type/style of beads you create, being a bead addict myself :)
I love that kite pendant.
ReplyDeleteI love that kite pendant and the wire work on it! Really, really neat Grandma!
ReplyDeleteThank you Vixen, I appreciate the kind words.
