Polymer Clay Combining Cane Tiles in Pink

House Update: The roof is done, next step new gutters. I'm hoping the gutter work won't be as noisy as the roof work was.

With all that pounding overhead I forgot to take photos of the canes I assembled for these tiles, as you can see I combined magenta, pink, and black and white canes. I am pleased with the way they turned out.

I added colored wire and pearl seed beads in the center of this one.

I used fashion pages from a 1927 Ladies Home Journal for the background. I think the tiles have a roaring twenties look, don't you?
This one is my favorite. I think I will put a tassel of beads in the center.
It's cool and rainy here today, I hope it clears up tomorrow so the Easter bunny can hide his eggs.

Assorted Canes in Red & Black

I thought this group of mostly red, black and gray canes would make an interesting combination.

These don't look like much but....
I think they made attractive tiles. I especially like the lacy look created by the black and white cane. Two of tiles have red Swarovski rhinestones in the center, I didn't need them in the rest. I'm getting better at lining up the slices so they don't leave the dreaded hole in the center.
Wow!! They look really pretty with my new blog colors.

More Fun with Canes

I am still combining old canes to make new canes. I forgot to take photos of the old canes before I put them together... this is the "after" results.

This a a couple tiles I made from the above canes. I'm getting better about slicing and then joining the slices. They lined up pretty well. I added a Swarovski pastel aurora borealis rhinestone in the center of each to give them a little sparkle....( and to cover the hole where the corners didn't meet).
Two more combined cane... they don't look like much here but I was pleased with the things I made with them.
I don't make many flowers but I kinda like these. I may add some wire embellishments.
These are colors I like, I'm pleased with the way they turned out, especially the moth. I used scraps and a texture sheet to make the diamond shaped tiles, then highlight the raised areas with silver PearlEx.
